The optional side protection has been developed to extend the protection coverage in the flank area and is compatible with the high-visibility stab-proof vest Orion Classic, Orion Professional and Orion Elite. It enables flexible adjustment of the protection coverage according to different operational requirements.

Attachment is carried out via durable hook-and-loop fastenings, allowing quick and secure integration into the carrier platform. Depending on operational needs, the side protection can be used on one side or both sides – for example when carrying asymmetric equipment or a service weapon.

The material construction corresponds to the respective series variant:

• Classic: Protection panels made of high-strength aramid fabric combined with high-performance polymer
• Professional: Multi-layer carbon fiber–epoxy resin laminates on an aramid carrier
• Elite: Multi-layer carbon fiber–epoxy resin laminates with a textile base made of high-strength Cordura®-like filament yarns and optimized moisture and heat management

The outer carrier is manufactured in neon yellow and integrates seamlessly into the design of the Orion vests. The protection panels are removable, allowing the carrier platform to be machine washed for hygienic maintenance.

The side protection is supplied as a pair and is available to match the respective Orion Classic, Professional or Elite series variant.
